Our newest Granddaughter!

First view of our baby girl Cullen, version 2008!
She is so very precious and sweet! She and her Momma Danielle are doing very well! We're so happy that she's finally here. It was a very swift labor, and thankfully we have a new Granddaughter! 6lbs, 14oz, 19 inches long... They like the name Clara, but nothing is for sure yet!

Happy Birthday Uncle Eric!

Hard to believe that 27 years ago, I first met
Eric face to face. He was 2 weeks late, and was
worth waiting for! He's an amazing man, and I'm so proud to be his Mom. I love you son...We had hoped that Danielle was going to have her little girl today, and thus continue the tradition of having her girls on Uncle's birthdays! Evelyn was born on Great Uncle Kent's birthday, and Julianna shares her big day with Great Uncle Bob.
Alas, maybe this new little girl wants to share her day with her Aunt Ashley this coming Thursday, it's Ashley's 16th birthday!

Idaho Skies...

On my way to work,
I stuck my phone out
the window of my car.
This is what I was able
to catch! We really do
have some incredible
skies at times!

Life is good!

A new thing for me, working as a Pink Lady at the local hospital. I was so exhausted after my first shift, I'm grateful I have a few weeks to rest before my next one. I help on the Med/surg wing, getting things for patients, and cleaning up etc...my hat's off the the CNA's and nurses...

Andrea and I went to a sale at a thrift shop that focuses on children's clothing. The first Saturday of the month, they clear out the past date items at 25cents apiece! wow, you should see the craziness! At one point I took something out of a big black garbage bag that was sitting open on the floor...turned out that was another woman's shopping bag! I wonder how big her family is>? We found some really cute things, and I may make this a regular habit...I spent $6.89 and walked out with my own garbage bag of clothing...A few of the things I picked up!

As most of you know, I love to decorate. I love to re-purpose things as well. We're trying to get rid of the apples and red and green colors in our kitchen...our new look follows...

My new moto...(Duane knows this doesn't apply to our projects...they're complicated 'cause we do it ourselves!)

I stitched this while traveling...
Our cute hutch...you can see the white plates and bowls that I lugged back from Limoge France... I was determined to have some Limoge China I bought myself in France...a goal that I'd made when I was 19 years old working at Auerbach's Department store in Murray Utah! Wow, simple pleasures for simple people!
O.k., here's the vase that Duane picked out in Venice. We were in this amazing glass "factory"...nothing automated, all hand done/blown. We really couldn't see anything we fell in love with enough to part with the kind of money they were asking for their art...then Duane spotted the clearance table (that's my husband!), and we fell in love with this vase. Enough to lug it home in his carry-on as well. It weighs 10 pounds...no kidding! But it's a great reminder of the greatest trip ever!

I recovered our old sofa until we finish re-modeling and get to buy a new sofa...it was fun and relatively easy...I recovered some old pillows, and came up with the idea of using a yellow suit jacket I found for 99cents. I used it to make this pillow and to make part of the seat covers on the sofa cushions! The blue and white fabric is from an old pillow case cut into sections and pieced together with the jacket squares..what a scrounge, huh? I make myself proud sometimes, it's the thrill of the hunt, I know DeAnn would be proud of me!

This is the new headboard that Duane and I made for our bed! We are going to paint and do a few other things in our bedroom soon...
try and guess how we did this!

Labor Day! 2008

Evelyn and Julianna in their kitchen, and Ashley is at the piano, showing off her new cell phone!

Grandma Marjie gets new teeth!

Eric...
Our one apple that made it thru the storms!

Pic's of Duane's garden...he's had lots of fun growing a vegetable garden this year!

Evelyn is in kindergarten! I really don't know how we got here so fast!

We're so fortunate to live in this country. I know that there are so many other great places in this wonderful world that we live in, but I know that I'm supposed to be here, at this time. I've been blessed to be a Wife and a Mother. It's so wonderful to now be a Grandmother. I'm really looking forward to the newest members of our family, due very soon! How very thankful Duane and I are that our daughters and their husbands have the faith to follow our Heavenly Father's Plan! The 2 granddaughters the Lord has blessed us with already, are so amazing. It just doesn't get any better! Now we're looking forward to meeting our new granddaughter, sometime in September and Grandson in October (we hope). My brother John is getting married in Sacramento on the 11Th of October, and we're hoping that the babies cooperate and allow us to do it all. That is be attentive grandparents and get to celebrate this wonderful occasion with my brother John and his soon to be wife, Barbara. John's waited a long, long time for this, and we're so excited for the two of them.
